How they converted an old school bus into a super cool motorhome
For those in the market for a motorhome, there are some incredible options out there, like this $1.25 million Dembell one that is basically a luxury apartment on wheels, or this upcoming Jayco model that is the first Class A all-electric RV in the world.
But for those with more limited budgets, DIY motorhomes are a great idea, like this old bread truck that has a new life as an RV.
Paul and Shae picked up a 2006 International school bus for just $6,000 and spent the next three years converting it.
And the result is super impressive.

The couple says they spent around $25,000 converting the old bus and have been left with a truly unique RV.
The converted old school bus has been wrapped in white vinyl and finished with the logo from their BusLife4Me social media handle.
Being an old school bus, the motorhome measures a spacious 42-foot-long, and the couple has made clever use of the available space by breaking it down into compartments.
At the rear of the bus, you’ll find the bedroom with a queen-sized bed and plenty of room for storage. They even included a windowsill along the back so their two cats have a place to relax with a view.
Moving on from the bedroom, there’s a shower room, which also houses their composting toilet when they’re on the move.
Next up is the main living area, which comprises a large lounge, which doubles as their working space, and a kitchen along the opposite wall.

Paul and Shae each have their own workstation with chairs, while the lounge area has cushioned benches and a foldable table that can be turned into a dinette.
Along the opposite side of the bus, there’s a decent-sized kitchen with ample storage space and work surfaces, as well as appliances including an oven, crockpot, air fryer, and two-burner cooktop.
There’s even a roof terrace up top
The decor inside has been kept modern and fresh with plenty of cute, homely touches, like a patterned rug and cozy throw.
To maximize sunlight, the couple has not only kept all of the converted old school bus windows, but also added a skylight.
Up on the roof, they built a wooden deck that is accessed via a ladder to offer beautiful views of the night sky.
The incredible conversion just goes to show how much can be done without breaking the bank.
