This US woman, who has been traveling the world, living inside her Toyota Tacoma truck, for the last three years, has revealed the pros and cons of opting for an on-the-go house rather than a static home.
It’s not uncommon for people to jump in the back of an RV and hit the road for a mini excursion.
But few people drive off for three years, leaving life behind to take their Toyota Tacoma around the world.
Ashley Kaye has, though, driving her transformed truck to over 20 countries throughout North and South America.

US woman documents her three-year trip in a Toyota Tacoma
When it comes to leaving the mundane life behind for a new on-the-go regime, we’ve heard of people traveling around the globe on cruises or taking short Top Gear-like challenges to unfamiliar territories.
But this 32-year-old woman from the US has upped the ante and spends her life documenting her life from behind the wheel of a Toyota Tacoma.
Oh, and she’s not alone. Her good boy Porter, a rescue black Labrador mix, follows her as a trusted companion.
So far, she’s spent three years in her camper and is now on the way to Argentina from the US.

Having spent roughly $42,934 on the truck and a further $50,000 on its conversion to put in a bed and essentials storage, she’s now revealed just how she’s managed over the years, detailing the highs and lows.
Pros and cons of three years living in a truck
Kaye opted for a life in the Toyota over a house. So, how has the varying lifestyle differed from that of consistency? Well, it’s a mixed bag, but mainly a dream come true.
“It’s really an incredible way to travel because you get to set your own pace, and if you find somewhere that’s beautiful and peaceful, you can stay as long as you want,” she said in an interview with CNBC Make It.
It doesn’t come without stress, though. Maintenance and gas are difficult to keep on top of.
“There are pros and cons to every mode of travel, and a lot of red tape and logistics crossing borders.
“It can be exhausting, especially when you’re alone. You have to find a balance that works for you.”

As long as you have a furry companion, though, it looks like the possibilities are endless.
So far, Kaye’s Toyota Tacoma has been through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and more, and there’s no real finishing line.
Volcano or jungle, her traveling escapades always lead to a wonderful place.
