A Utah car enthusiast built his own off-road Jeep for super cheap and was left seriously impressed with the vehicle he created.
Content creator Robby Layton and his pals built themselves a Jeep to take part in an off-roading competition.
After spending hours working on the vehicle, they had just one question: would it drive?
And, of course, there was only one way to find out – take it out on the road.

The budget off-road Jeep was a labor of love
It’s always fun to see someone putting their practical skills to good use by building their own cars – like this man who built his very own Tesla Cybertruck from scratch or this guy, who challenged himself to create a DIY Jaguar XJ220 supercar.
Car enthusiast and content creator Robby Layton wanted to take part in Matt’s Off-Road Games, which, as the name suggests, sees people battling it out in off-roading events.

To do so, he decided to create his own off-road Jeep – and he didn’t want to part with a lot of cash to make it.
Getting the ‘jalopy’ Jeep back up and running wasn’t an easy task, but for Robby and his pals, it was a real labor of love.
And, after putting in some serious hard work, the DIY vehicle was ready to hit the road.
How would the DIY vehicle handle its first drive?
Although Robby hit some stumbling blocks along the way, the Jeep was finally ready to be taken out for a test drive.
The Jeep was taken out onto the open road where it drove like a dream, but given that the vehicle was designed for an off-roading competition, Robby was keen to check out how it performed on some tougher terrain.
And it’s safe to say that the Jeep more than surpassed their expectations.
So much so, that Robby had to take a moment to appreciate the vehicle he had created.
“All I gotta say, [is] that’s a win for us – look at that beautiful thing,” he said.
“It’s working.
“This thing is performing way better than we expected – even though we expected it to perform well, it’s performing way better than that.”
We’ll chalk that up as a win for Robby and his friends.
