Vancouver locals are in uproar over a billionaire’s $300,000,000 superyacht blocking their view.
A colossal $300 million superyacht called Anawa, owned by billionaire Jorge Paulo Lemann, has anchored along the city’s waterfront.
It’s been sparking outrage among locals who say it’s blocking views, polluting the skyline, and flaunting extreme wealth in a city battling an affordability crisis.
Due to its sheer size and grandiosity, the superyacht’s also drawing a crowd.

At 470 feet long, Anawa is a masterpiece of modern superyacht design.
Built by Norwegian shipyard Damen Yachting, it combines expedition-grade engineering with ultra-luxury interiors designed for long-distance travel.
The vessel reportedly features a helipad, swimming pool, cinema room, and full gym, along with hybrid propulsion that makes it quieter and more efficient than most yachts its size.

It’s also equipped for Arctic exploration, capable of handling icy waters while offering five-star comfort on board.
While the yacht’s size has sparked debate among Vancouver residents, others see it as a rare glimpse into a level of craftsmanship and design that’s usually hidden from public view.
Onlookers have lined the seawall to take photos as Anawa reflects the skyline, a floating piece of modern engineering art.

Originally shared on Reddit, Anawa caused quite the a frenzy, with people wondering why a ship so large has docked on the waterfront.
The environmental impact of superyachts is always part of the conversation, but Anawa represents a newer generation of ships being built with sustainability in mind.
According to reports, it uses advanced energy systems and lower-emission engines compared to traditional diesel giants.

For now, Vancouver’s waterfront has a temporary new landmark and whether it’s admired or criticized, Anawa has captured the city’s attention, proving once again that few things draw a crowd quite like a billion-dollar boat.
