A vehicle recovery team called out to rescue a Dodge Durango that had got stuck in the mud near a lake in Utah ended up getting themselves stuck.
Not ideal.
When the driver of the Durango became stuck fast in the mud around Quichapa Lake, he did what any sensible motorist would do and called for help.
However, things quickly went from bad to worse when the rescuers became trapped themselves.

A Dodge Durango got stuck in the mud near a Utah lake
Getting your vehicle stuck in the mud is no laughing matter – just ask the owner of this Chevy Silverado which required a herculean effort to get back on the road.
Thankfully, there are folks out there who can help and one such person is Matt, from the Matt’s Off Road Recovery YouTube channel.

Back in December 2023, he was called out by the owner of a Dodge Durango who found himself completely stuck at a mud lake in Utah.
So, Matt – and his family – hopped into their recovery vehicle and headed out to the scene.
Unfortunately, just as they approached the trapped customer, they found themselves sinking into the mud.
“Alright we just sunk,” Matt said in the clip. “But we’ve just stopped, so now we’re going to four-wheel drive, both axles locked and we’re going to try and move it.”
However, his attempt to move the rescue truck only made it more clear that it was well and truly stuck. Ouch.
Freeing the stuck rescue truck was not easy
Of course, Matt wasn’t about to give up that easily and he drove the rescue vehicle back and forth as he attempted to free it from the mud – but that didn’t appear to be doing the trick.
“This is bad, I hope he gets out,” Matt’s partner told the camera.
After several attempts, Matt got the truck free but it almost immediately became stuck in the slick mud once again.
After several more attempts – and plenty of manpower – they eventually freed the rescue truck and were able to make their way to the original stuck vehicle.
Unlike the rescue truck, the Durango was pretty easy to get out of the mud and within a few minutes it was out.
So, all’s well that ends well, right?
