Ahead of the launch of its latest open-top supercar, the fabled French manufacturer has invented some brutal Bugatti Mistral tests to ensure peak performance.
The Bugatti Mistral is already a record-breaker, being the quickest convertible ever made.
Before the limited set of 99 Mistrals is delivered to their new owners, the supercars are put through a gauntlet of tests.
So much so, they put hundreds of miles on the clock to ensure perfection.

Bugatti Mistral tests are rigorous
The Bugatti Mistral is being rolled out around the world, with two Americans becoming the first recipients, although they won’t be able to drive the supercars properly straight away.
But the new owners will notice that the odometer isn’t set at zero miles, unlike some other supercars, following the various waves of Bugatti Mistral tests.
Much akin to the Bolide, which saw each of the units undergo an incredible ‘shakedown’ by eight experts before shipping, the Mistral is pushed to the max on a brutal 217-mile circuit.

As outlined in the latest Bugatti blog post, the first wave of testing sees the Mistral take on the Alsatian countryside, tackling snaking lanes and mountain passes before opening up its stride on longer highways.
“Putting every vehicle through a minimum of 400 km of assessment, our evaluation protocol isn’t just about validating functionality, but a confirmation that each W16 Mistral is imbued with the pure essence of quality, precision, and craftsmanship that makes a Bugatti truly extraordinary,” Bugatti President Christophe Piochon said.
Bugatti measures the performance and, arguably more importantly, the ‘feel’, to ensure the finished product is at the right standard.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Once the cross-country run is done, it heads to the track to test its blistering speeds.
Pushed up to its record-breaking 186 mph, the track testing ensures that the brakes and performance software are all up to scratch.
The tests are done by experts in the Bugatti labs, although CEO Mate Rimac has been spotted putting his personal car through its paces too.
Are all supercars given this treatment?
Given the elevated risk of driving supercars, many of the best models in the world are put through some serious trials.
Bugatti is well-known for this, even pushing the Tourbillon to the max in extreme temperatures under the UAE sun.
Some supercars are even evaluated by the quickest racers on the planet, just like how Max Verstappen slammed foot to pedal in the Ferrari GT3 at the Nürburgring.

Most supercars are given thorough examinations, especially as the manufacturers want to deliver on promises of top speeds and continue to produce top-calibre final products.
Just recently, Aston Martin finished its testing process for the Valhalla, and it will soon begin landing on the driveway of its millionaire owners.
