Every car fan has two favorite words: sport mode, which enables the car to do a variety of different things.
Many cars have the option, and even though many drivers use it, some are left wondering what additions the mode actually brings to their driving experience.
From gas-powered cars to even hybrids and EVs, many vehicles include their version of the mode.
But, for those who want even more than one sportier experience, there’s a clear, easy solution.

Sport mode can affect your car in more ways than one
We get it, some gearheads select the vehicle they would like to drive purely on how fast it can move, and quite frankly, who can blame them?
So, when gearheads hear the words ‘Sports mode’ when sourcing a new ride, excitement is set to build.
But have you ever actually wondered what Sports mode really means?

Well, it turns out that clever tech can make driving on difficult terrain a whole lot easier.
It should be noted, though, that each model and make of car’s Sport mode will surely vary, so keep an eye on your car’s individual specs closely.
The mode usually includes an enhanced accelerator response along with steering and suspension changes, meaning you can tackle the open road with altered settings and a different feel.
“When the sport mode is activated, you are putting the engine’s computer in preparation for an aggressive drive by pumping extra fuel into the engine,” stated Michelin.
The company went on to explain that this means a ‘surge in RPMs’, which sends a signal to the automatic gearbox and means the engine is brought close to the car’s power band.

Cars can hold a gear for longer periods of time, meaning they can shift at high levels.
Sport mode can also alter the steering in more ways than one, with more torque potentially hitting the rear wheels of the car, and tire slip levels can also change before braking systems feel the need to act.
The noise that your car makes can even be affected, which is great news for drivers who love to rev their engines.
Plus, if you own a hybrid or electric car, then the mode could be advanced even more, and regenerative braking could be enhanced.
Proceed with caution, as even though driving with the special effects in place is fun, it could cost more in fuel and eventually cause wear to tires if used frequently.
Your surroundings and weather should be taken into account, too.
But, for those who want more than a mode, sports cars exist
For those gearheads who don’t quite deem sports mode as enough, the next option is often to purchase a sports car.
And, luckily for those in favor, there are many impressive options available.
In China, technology is rapidly advancing, which means the sports cars are too, like this $32,000 electric model that made an American man fall in love.
Plus, more releases of sports cars are closer than you think, with BYD’s new two-door electric sports car spotted out in the wild, with a few things sticking out to car fans.
Do you use the flashy mode often? Or do you like to play it safe?
