Ever wondered what happens if a tire hits a parked car while moving at 372mph?

Well, wonder no longer.

Because it’s just happened and the footage has been shared online.

And it’s actually a lot scarier and capable of causing more damage than you might think.

Tire hits a parked car while moving at more than 370mph

We all know that a stray tire at speed can cause serious damage to any cars that get in its way.

However, the guys from Garage 54 set out to demonstrate just how much damage a loose tire can do, but in a relatively safe manner.

The team behind Garage 54 has attempted all sorts of unusual challenges, like trying to start wrecked cars that had spent a year underground, or putting a propeller on an old Lada

Another bizarre experiment involved getting to the bottom of how much damage a flying tire can do.

The team took a specially designed machine that was able to spin tires at incredible speeds.

They then made some adjustments to the machine so it would release the tire while it was whizzing around, effectively making a specialized tire-flinging machine.

With the machine ready to go, they took it outside and began launching the fast-moving tires at an old, worn-out car.

The results of the tire experiment

In the clip, the tire hits a parked car and manages to inflict quite a bit of damage to the rocker panel and seriously denting the door.

As you’d expect, speeding up the tire results in worse damage.

And by the end of the clip, it’s safe to say the white car won’t be back on the road anytime soon.

While the experiment looked pretty wild and fun, it’s an important reminder of just how much damage a loose tire can really do.

Oh, and in case you need to be told, please don’t try this at home.

On YouTube there were plenty of folks happy that the guys at Garage 54 had tried it, so they didn’t have to.

“It needs to be done for science,” one person wrote.

“These guys are living their best lives, doing all the nonsense we wish we had room and funds for,” another added.

“That was an awesome idea, and it was perfectly executed,” a third said.
