A YouTuber stumbled upon a massive wheel loader that’s been sitting unused for over 20 years.

It weighs a whopping 43,000 pounds – or 19,500+kg – and it runs on an equally gigantic Cummins engine.

Although, on this occasion, the word ‘runs’ might be a bit generous.

Because the wheel loader is dead, and the YouTuber is unsure he can revive it at all.

A sleeping giant

The loader was found with no oil, no filters, no plugs, and flat tires.

Only one of four tires has a puncture, the other three held air when inflated, but that’s probably a moot point.

Leaving any vehicle on flat tires for two decades ruins the tires, even more so if we’re talking about a wheel loader that weighs 43,000lbs

The loader is a Clark 125C model with a Cummins 555 engine, but said engine appears to be damaged possibly beyond saving, and the same goes for the transmission.

Diesel Creek, the YouTuber who found the wheel loader, said he’d potentially buy the vehicle if he could get it started again.

We’re rooting for him, but we’re not sure he’ll pull it off.

A wheel loader is one of the heaviest land vehicles

A wheel loader is one of the heaviest land vehicles you can find.

More to the point, it is one of the heaviest civilian vehicles running on tires.

The Leopard 1A5 tank that Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano ‘drove’ or the abandoned tank that a UK man recovered from a bush are heavier, but they’re both military vehicles, and they run on tracks, not tires.

Meanwhile, the Corvette ZR1 is also pretty weighty despite being powerful.

The length-to-weight ratio is also interesting.

Wheel loaders can sometimes be shorter than some cars, and yet they can be 10 or 20 times heavier.
