Gas price is a major consideration
It goes without saying that gas prices are at the forefront of most car owners’ thoughts.
This is especially true as the US car industry undergoes another transformation.
Most major manufacturers now appear to be shifting away from EVs as a priority.

This means that the gas price of an area continues to play an extremely important role.
We recently covered the five cities with the most expensive gas prices, which you can check out here.
But which areas are cheapest for gas prices?
Thankfully, Autoblog has just released such a list.
So let’s have a look at the five best-performing cities for your gas tank.

5. West Wendover, Nevada
Head to 1020 North Florence Way, West Wendover, Nevada.
There, you will find The Maverick gas station – and a gas price of $2.13 per gallon.
It is unclear whether card payments are taken, so make sure you have cash on you when you go to fill up.
4. Katy, Texas
They say that everything is bigger in Texas.
Thankfully, that doesn’t appear to apply to the price of gas.
Head to the Quick Trip at 23169 Morton Ranch Road in Katy, Texas, for the best price.

There, you will get a gas price of $1.97 per gallon.
This is, at the time of writing, the best gas price in town – but not by a lot.
Walmart is a penny extra per gallon, whilst Chevron is (remarkably) only two cents more expensive.
3. Midwest City, Oklahoma
There is one particular gas station that Autoblog found to be very affordable for gas.
And that is Murphy Express, where the gas price is just $1.96 per gallon.
The station, located at 5655 Southeast 15th Street, Midwest City, Oklahoma, is just one of several.
But beware – to take advantage of these prices, you are often required to pay in cash.
This is because gas stations often charge a fee for credit card use ito cover transaction fees.
Use an ATM first in order to get that sweet, sub-two-dollar price.
2. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Like Midwest City, Oklahoma City also has a gas price of $1.96 per gallon.
You can find this price at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 4900 South Sooner Road.

Walmart stations aren’t known for requiring one method of payment over the other.
This means that this is likely the price you will pay regardless of whether you use cash or a credit card.
1. Longview, Texas, has the cheapest gas price in the US
Texas sure does love saving its drivers money when it comes to the price of gas.
Make sure to head to Sam’s Club at 3310 North 4th Street in Longview, Texas.
There, you will find gas for just $1.89 per gallon today.
This price is two cents cheaper than its nearest local competitor.
So there you have it – check these places out for the best gas prices near you in America.
