When drivers were asked to choose the best navigation app out of Waze, Apple Maps, and Google Maps, the internet had plenty to say, and one answer came up again and again.

A Reddit thread full of UK drivers turned into a heated debate about which navigation app really works best on British roads.

From city commuters to countryside drivers across the UK, everyone had their own experiences and frustrations to share.

And by the end of it, one app had clearly driven off with the win.

Apple Maps and Google Maps still have fans

When British drivers were asked to share their favorite navigation app tech and why they love them, fierce debate broke out.

Plenty of drivers said they still use Apple Maps or Google Maps for certain things.

One commenter on the post wrote:

“Searchability is better on Google Maps than Waze. So if you don’t already know the exact address of your destination, Google Maps makes finding that place easier.”

“I use Apple Maps about 80 percent of the time. Waze beats it for a couple of things, but Apple Maps is much better than it used to be,” added another user.

Others said Google Maps feels more reliable when you do not know the area at all.

“If I don’t have a clue where I’m going, I’ll use Google Maps,” one driver admitted.

Still, most people agreed that while both Apple and Google have their strengths, there is one app that goes further when it comes to live accuracy and real-world driving.

There is only one Waze to the pole position

When it comes to the one navigation app to rule them all, everyone had one favorite.

“Waze by a mile. Mobile speed cameras are reported within seconds, and having a permanent speedo is a godsend when on unfamiliar roads,” one driver said.

“Better reporting, traffic, and routing than Google Maps. It also lets me use it without having to input a destination,” another user added.

After hundreds of comments, the verdict was clear: when UK drivers were asked which navigation app is best, almost everyone gave the same answer – Waze.
