WhistlinDiesel gave his Dodge truck 38,000hp by installing 17 turbos and things went exactly as you'd expect

WhistlinDiesel had a new – how can we put it? – ‘creative’ idea and fitted his Dodge truck with 17 turbos.

Adding 17 turbos to a truck does exactly what you think it’ll do.

The first thing is power, because you get a lot more of it.

And the second thing is, well, predictable.

This was probably the most powerful Dodge truck in the world… for a few minutes

WhistlinDiesel, one of the most controversial car YouTubers, had one of those why-not moments and fitted 17 turbos to his bright red Dodge truck.

The job was not easy, and probably doomed from the start.

WhistlinDiesel immediately addressed the elephant of the room.

“Obviously, this is going to affect the drivability of the truck,” he said.

Before any of the turbos were added to the Dodge, the team tested how much power this could generate.

And the answer was: a lot.

With all 17 turbos at work, the truck was now capable of making 18,000 horsepower.

It all went wrong quite quickly

The mighty Dodge truck was taken to a truck show for a baptism of fire to really showcase what it was capable of, but it all went wrong.

With 17 turbos, the truck was much heavier than it was intended to be, much more powerful, and with much more torque than it could handle.

The combination of this was always going to cause issues, but it was also going to be interesting to see what would go wrong first.

And how.

The answer was discovered within minutes.

The turbos made the engine work harder, which generated extra heat that resulted in a fire.

It didn’t take long for the truck to be almost literally on fire and barely visible in a cloud of its own smoke.

Then again, he specializes in don’t-try-this-at-home content, so we shouldn’t be surprised.
