WhistlinDiesel put a $100k 2023 Corvette C8 Z06 through its paces in a seriously grueling durability test.

The YouTuber is renowned for his unorthodox approach to testing cars.

Those tests usually end in flames and destruction.

Would it be a different story this time around? Would the Corvette C8 Z06 be spared from the fire or would it be the same old story?

What does WhistlinDiesel do to test out cars?

YouTuber Cody Detwiler, better known as WhistlinDiesel, has quite the knack for car carnage.

We all remember the infamous Ferrari F8 Tributo that went up in flames, don’t we?

Then there was the Tesla Cybertruck that met its end crashing into the side of a Ford F-150 at 110mph.

But not all of his cars end up going out in flames – some have a wetter fate awaiting them, like his Lamborghini Huracán that he took through a hurricane.

Expect the unexpected with WhistlinDiesel.

Here’s what WhistlinDiesel did to this Corvette C8 Z06?

This time around, it was a Corvette C8 Z06 that WhistlinDiesel was subjecting to an endurance test.

He took it off-roading, which is not exactly the obvious choice for a brand-new Corvette.

We’re talking climbing dirt embankments and rapidly shredding the tires.

After that, WhistlinDiesel and his team decided to test out the front trunk space by jamming a full set of golf clubs inside.

So far, this was fairly mild going for WhistlinDiesel.

Where’s the fire? Where’s the destruction?

Well, this was just part one of his rampage – it’s in part two where things got taken up a notch.

Could the Corvette C8 Z06 take all that he was dishing out?

In the follow-up video, all bets were off.

He was throwing anything and everything at this C8 Z06 to see what it could take.

That included an obstacle course filled with a gated collision, a burning car, barricades, and people jumping onto the car.

Sounds chaotic, right?

Well, it doesn’t end there.

The convertible was driven into an escalating rainstorm – with the roof down – and then driven into an automatic car wash.

As you can imagine, the interior was totally flooded and all the electronic components were soaked in soapy water.

Not great.

To ‘dry off’ the car, it was suspended in the air from a heavy crane.

Then it was time for him to go through the car and attempt to dismantle it with his own brute strength.

“Logically, if I can break anything on this car with my bare hands quickly, it’s not a quality product,” he declared.

We’re not sure on the logic of that, but we’ll take his word for it this time.

The side mirrors were snapped off, the door was bent past its hinges, and the frunk hood was torn off.

As if all of that wasn’t bad enough, they decided to top it all off by attaching a heavy horse trailer and attempting some high-speed corners.

It was at this point that the aluminium frame began to bend.

“The whole frame is bending. Well, these cars are designed to like when they get an accident, the whole back of the frame just shears off,” WhistlinDiesel declared.

By the end of the video, the C8 was in pretty sorry shape, it’s safe to say.

But it wasn’t a pile of ash, so it came out relatively well all things considered.
