Driving a Lamborghini Huracán through a hurricane probably isn’t on most supercar owners’ bucket lists, but WhistlinDiesel has never been one to do things the conventional way.
The YouTuber, known for putting expensive vehicles through some seriously unusual tests, has now found himself in Florida with his bright yellow Lamborghini during a storm.
And the unexpected encounter has given him the chance to put the supercar in some seriously wet conditions.
Just the way he dreamed about.
WhistlinDiesel and his Lamborghini Huracán encounter a hurricane
The bizarre supercar moment came to light after storm chaser Kenny Schenk shared photos of his encounter with WhistlinDiesel in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, during Hurricane Isaias.
Schenk said running into the YouTuber driving a Lamborghini Huracán during a hurricane was definitely not on his bingo card for the chase.
Photos showed the bright yellow supercar parked outside a building as rain poured down around it, with the unmistakable markings of a crash-test vehicle still visible on its bodywork.
The car was labelled ‘WHISTLINDIESEL TEST SUBJECT 003’, alongside a crash-test symbol, giving the already unusual sight an even more fitting look.
Another image showed the Lamborghini pushing through a flooded stretch of road, sending water splashing around its front end as it drove through the standing water.
It was certainly a different environment from the dry roads and sunny conditions where you’d normally expect to see a Lamborghini being driven.

The YouTuber has a history of putting supercars through extreme tests
WhistlinDiesel has built a huge online following by testing the limits of cars, trucks and other expensive machines, often in ways that most owners would never dream of attempting.
His videos regularly involve unusual challenges and destructive experiments, making the sight of his Lamborghini out in stormy Florida conditions particularly on-brand, and in his latest Instagram post, he said: “I’ve ways wanted to drive a Lamborghini Huracán into a Hurricane.”

The Huracán is a high-performance Italian supercar with a low body and an engine designed to deliver high speed, however, its performance credentials don’t make it immune to actual hurricanes.
Water can conceal potholes, debris and damaged road surfaces, while deeper sections can be dangerous for vehicles with low ground clearance.
Floodwater can also enter the engine or electrical systems, potentially causing costly damage.
That makes driving a supercar through standing water a very different challenge from taking it for a spin on a racetrack.

Hurricane conditions are basically an endurance test
Hurricanes can bring torrential rain, powerful winds and dangerous flooding, making conditions unpredictable even for experienced drivers.
While the Lamborghini was pictured driving through water, that doesn’t necessarily mean it was exposed to the hurricane’s strongest winds or the most severe conditions.
For now, the images offer a glimpse of an unusual meeting between a famously unconventional car tester and a storm-chasing adventure.
We desperately want to see the YouTube video about this.
