Jay Leno owns 200+ cars, but he doesn’t own a Ferrari, and he doesn’t want one.

His decision was made years ago, and still to this day, Leno has never owned a Ferrari.

Leno has taken a firm stance for a very specific reason.

And it has nothing to do with the cars themselves.

Why Jay Leno doesn’t want to buy a Ferrari

Jay Leno has one of the world’s largest private collections, and the world’s most googled car collection.

Amongst the 200+ cars in his collection, you can find McLarens, Lamborghinis, vintage Duesenbergs, and even a jet-powered motorcycle.

The list is extensive.

However, you will see that a very iconic supercar is notably absent from the collection, and that is the Ferrari.

As he explained in an episode of the Road to Success Stories podcast, this is not because he doesn’t like the cars.

It’s because he doesn’t like dealing with Ferrari.

“There was a certain elite feeling to [being a Ferrari client]. I didn’t like it,” Leno explained.

He also explained how he’s never felt like that with any other company.

“When I bought my McLaren, they asked me if I was going to track it, and when I said no, they said ‘then you don’t need [the upgrade], save yourself 20 grand’. It felt nice. I felt like a customer,” Leno explained.

He owns just about everything else, though

Leno may not own a Ferrari, but he owns just about every other car brand you can think of.

Leno owns a 1995 McLaren F1 (along with a P1 and a W1), 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL, and a 1934 Duesenberg Walker Coupe.

These three cars alone are worth around $50 million.

Leno also owns a variety of one-off cars and experimental vehicles.

For example, Jay Leno once collaborated with GM on a one-off supercar, and he owns an ultra-rare Chrysler turbine vehicle.
