A particular Porsche feature in its cars, such as the 911, is so good, it makes driving in any condition feel like you’re in a spa.
Porsche is a company most famous for the 911 sports car, as well as other models like the 944, Cayenne, and the electric Taycan.
As well as providing lots of performance, Porsche likes to pack in luxury too, and one particular feature makes these cars exceptionally comfortable to drive.
Porsche offers the option to not only have your seat be heated on a long journey, but also to cool it down as well!

While heated seats are quite common, heated and cooled seats in cars are less so.
Yet Porsche does offer this novel feature, with it appearing on models such as the 2010 997.2 Carrera S.
Buttons on the center console indicate three levels of heat warming with red indicators.
But there are also blue indicators on another button for seat cooling.

Conductive wire heats up the seats of a car, at varying levels of warmth depending on what you choose.
However, with the cool setting on, this takes place via ventilation.
The car will push the air-conditioned air through the seats, which then cools down the seats.
In the summer, if it is particularly hot, this could be a great addition to running the air conditioning to minimize sweat.
Remarkably, most automotive manufacturers don’t offer the functionality to have both a heated and cooled seat.
In fact, cooled seats are one of the rarest features of any modern automobile.
So the fact that Porsche offers this, along with its usual performance prowess, is game-changing.
Although… you could argue that the feature is a touch excessive and over the top.
Most modern air conditioning systems do a pretty good job of keeping drivers and passengers nice and cool.

But having that extra level of cooling can help, and it might make long road trips a lot more bearable.
We love cool and quirky features, whether they’re software additions or extra cubby holes and storage, like the Renault 5 baguette holder.
The Porsche-cooled seats might just be the best, and who wouldn’t want to be on the move and inside a spa?
