A woman who bought a 2021 Ford Bronco from a dealership was left reeling after opening up the glovebox and seeing a very unwelcome surprise.

The woman bought a used 2021 Ford Bronco last month from a dealership in Illinois.

The car was sold with a clean title and clean Carfax report.

But it turned out the car Bronco was hiding a secret – and its new owner was in for a surprise.

The woman found a surprise in the glovebox of her 2021 Ford Bronco

Buying a used car can come with an element of risk, just ask the guy who handed over a whopping $130,000 for a sight-unseen Plymouth Superbird, only to discover it was riddled with problems, or the man who ended up with serious buyer’s remorse after a 1984 Cadillac Eldorado

Meanwhile, TikTok user Lisa – or @barefootlisa as she’s known on the platform – has shared her experience of buying a used car and being hit with a nasty surprise.

In a clip uploaded to TikTok she explained that she bought the 2021 Ford Bronco from a dealership with a clean Carfax report.

However, after she got home with her new car, she opened up the glovebox and found a receipt from a local autoshop after repairing $7,000 worth of damage.

“And on the receipt it says, ‘Per insurance estimate, paid insurance check’ so it was an insurance claim,” she noted.

“I’m absolutely spinning. I’m freaking out, thinking, ‘$7,000 is pretty significant in damage. What did they do? Is there frame damage?’”

Lisa said her main concern was that the unknown accident could present issues down the line.

She went on to say that if had she known, she wouldn’t have paid what she did for the 2021 Ford Bronco.

“Because damage multipliers and stuff like that with depreciation? It’s like a minimum of 10 percent,” she added.

She called up the dealership to express her concerns.

The dealership then reached out to the original owner, who admitted that she had hit a deer, which caused some damage to the roof and windshield, but said the airbags weren’t deployed.

After the truth came to light, Lisa says the dealership offered her free ceramic coating for the car, but the paperwork she found in the glovebox revealed that the Bronco had already had that.

Instead, she asked for an extended warranty to cover any potential issues that might crop up, but was told she would need to pay for it.

She turned to TikTok for advice on what to do next

At the end of the clip, she said she was now weighing up her options and asked for advice on what she should do next.

Her video was quickly flooded with comments, with most folks telling her she should return the car to the dealership and get her money back.

Others said it wasn’t the fault of the dealership, as they were not informed about the accident from the original owner, and that Lisa should have paid for an independent inspection before buying.
