This 1976 Pontiac Firebird Esprit was sadly left abandoned when its owner left for Hawaii and never returned.
The car has been sitting in the same yard for decades and has had a bit of restoration from the original owner’s neighbor.
The neighbor has decided it’s time for this Pontiac Firebird to spread it’s wings and fly the nest, hopefully finding a new home with a buyer on eBay.
Even though it has a replacement hood and needs a lot of TLC, the iconic car could be the perfect project for someone looking for a challenge.

It’s time for the Pontiac Firebird to spread its wings and fly away
When this 1976 Pontiac Firebird Esprit was purchased new in the 1970s, the owner probably didn’t think that decades later, it would be sitting in the same yard gathering rust.
The owner left to go to Hawaii in 1998 and the house recently sold, so the abandoned white Pontiac Firebird went to the owner’s neighbor for safekeeping.
Although the neighbor writes on the eBay post that he would love to keep it, he already has too many vehicles and he wants this car to go to a good home.
The seller writes that the hood had rusted through its years of neglect so he purchased a new one for it when he found one locally, so the hood is black and the rest of the body is white.

This Firebird has broken wings
The eBay seller has put some effort into making the abandoned car presentable for its potential buyers by replacing the aforementioned hood, lubing the cylinders, cleaning it and changing the oil.
It has a few aesthetic issues like a dent in the driver side fender and a slight tear in the driver side carpet, but the seller explained the huge amount of effort that will need to be put into the car to make it roadworthy again.
The tires do hold air but are described as ‘no good’ and the carburetor needs to be rebuilt, the car does run for 5-10 minutes but needs to be turned off as the freeze plugs leak.
Hopefully the new owner of this beautiful Pontiac Firebird will take good care of it, so it will be soon flying down the streets as it always should have been.
