This retired firetruck is being dubbed the world’s biggest and toughest RV
While motorhomes have moved on from the days of a car-towed caravan, some more homemade RVs are proving to be wildly popular.
The latest of these hand-crafted conversions comes from the YouTube team True Blue Travelers, who have created ‘Big Red’.
Slated as the ‘world’s biggest and toughest RV’, the 1991 Punzgauer 6×6 firetruck has been cut open and transformed into a luxury on-the-go home.

The retired firetruck has had its gut removed and replaced with a kitchen-diner, a lounge area, and two bedroom spaces, thanks to a loft conversion.
With solar panels on the roof, it creates its own electricity, which serves well when it comes to cooking time.
The YouTube duo is selling Big Red for $108,000 in the UK after plans to travel to Iceland fell through, but it could be a great opportunity for someone else to give life to the world’s biggest and toughest RV.
Is Big Red really as big and tough as it says?
Well, it is to a degree. But as to whether it can live up to its world-beating claims, there are certainly bigger RVs.
Straight off the bat, the likes of the Brabus Big Boy come to mind as a behemoth RV that would see Big Red as nothing but a pimple.
Even Elvis Presley’s private jet serves as an RV nowadays after a million-dollar makeover, which dwarfs the homemade firetruck conversion.
But its title of ‘toughest’ could be quite accurate.

You certainly wouldn’t want to fight it.
