The Ferrari F40 is one of the most legendary supercars ever made and one of them was just spotted in London with a rare Azzurro Hyperion finishing.

First introduced in 1987, the F40 was a successor to the 288 GTO, costing five times more than its predecessor.

Despite such a steep price increase, Ferrari moved 1,311 units of the supercar due to its popularity.

Seeing such an iconic supercar in this metallic blue feels even more special, because there’s only one.

Ferrari F40 in Azzurro Hyperion

The Ferrari F40 definitely deserves a spot on the list of the most iconic road-going supercars built by the Italian carmaker.

These days the average price for an F40 can easily cross a couple million dollars.

Of course, most of these cars sport the iconic Ferrari Rosso Corsa.

So it’s quite rare to see this iconic supercar in anything other than red.

Fortunately, YouTuber Freddie Atkins spotted a Ferrari F40 that had been repainted in a rare metallic blue shade.

The metallic blue shade is a historic Ferrari color called Azzurro Hyperion, which has been used by the carmaker, since the 1960s.

The Azzurro Hyperion dates back to the 1960s when it was offered on the 365 Grand Tourer and the entry-level Dino.

It is also featured in modern cars like the Ferrari 812, California, and even the 360.

Not another red Ferrari

There are many people who don’t prefer the iconic Ferrari red and like a different color on their supercar.

This Ferrari Daytona SP3 in white pearlescent paint is a great example of that.

Although the Ferrari F40 was an exclusive Rosso Corsa affair, that didn’t stop people from customizing it to their preference.

In one instance, Liberty Walk unveiled a widebody Ferrari F40 that looked straight out of Tokyo Drift.
