These men bought the ‘worst car on Facebook Marketplace’, and concluded it was also the most dangerous car they’d ever owned.
So ultimately the team over at Top Dead Center decided to add nitrous oxide to it.
They hoped that it would allow for more fuel to be burnt and provide a big power boost.
But would it pan out like that in reality? Either way, they were determined to find out.

These YouTubers bought the ‘worst car on Facebook Marketplace’
When it comes to buying cars listed on Facebook Marketplace, things can go one of two ways.
You can secure yourself a great car, like this 90 mile Porsche 911 Turbo S.
Or you can stumble across the ‘world’s worst Dodge Viper’ with a very questionable leopard print engine.
And even if a car looks good, there’s sometimes a catch in there somewhere, as was the case with this 2002 Range Rover Vogue.

So, with all that in mind, what sort of car had the team over at Top Dead Center landed themselves with?
Edwin Evans and Will Chandler bought this 1970s Cadillac Coupe de Ville sight unseen for $3,800.
Things weren’t looking too good – it took them forever to get the hood open as it’d become encrusted with rust, and the engine wasn’t looking too great either.

The rest of the car was in a pretty sorry state too – the body, the floor, the chassis, and the doors were all rotten.
But they weren’t giving up on this car just yet.
Would adding nitrous oxide make a difference to this Facebook Marketplace car?
When the car was put on the dyno, its 8.4L V8 had only produced 120hp, far below the original factory rating of 190hp.
They committed that if they could get it back to 190hp, they would save the engine and scrap the rest of the car.
A few fixes had to be made, including adjusting the ignition timing on the distributor and resolving a slow-cranking issue caused by a bad engine ground.

But these fixes still didn’t get the engine back up to where it needed to be.
So that’s when they decided to add some nitrous oxide.
Since nitrous oxide is oxygen rich, they speculated that this would allow more fuel to be burned and thus produce more power.
Usually, a properly set system would add extra fuel to avoid engine damage, but with this improvised set-up, they didn’t have that reassurance.
So with fire extinguishers at the ready, they added the nitrous.
But it worked a treat, and the Cadillac’s V8 was now double what it started off with – 264hp.
So that settled it – the engine would be pulled for another project, and it’d be hasta la vista to the rest of the car.
