XPeng’s flying electric car has thousands of orders after debuting in Las Vegas

XPeng unveiled the world’s first modular flying car, dubbed the ‘Land Aircraft Carrier’, at CES 2025 – and it has already pulled in thousands of orders.
The modular flying car is set to be the world’s first mass-produced vehicle of its type.
First deliveries of the Land Aircraft Carrier are slated for next year.
And it seems to be drumming up a lot of excitement – and well, who doesn’t want a car that can fly?

The Xpeng Land Aircraft Carrier was unveiled at CES 2025
XPeng is making some serious waves in the EV aviation industry, with its futuristic XPeng X2 flying car already taking to the skies in a number of planned test flights.
The Chinese company hopes to make flying cars a reality for everyone and has taken a step closer toward that goal.
During the CES 2025 in Las Vegas last week, XPeng debuted its Land Aircraft Carrier modular flying car and orders have already begun to fly in.
The Land Aircraft Carrier has a minimalist, futuristic-looking design and is comprised of two parts – a ground module known as the ‘mothership’ and an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) air module.
The ground module has a six-wheel, three-axle design offering impressive off-road capability and a super-sized trunk for storing the accompanying eVTOL.
It also serves as a mobile charging unit for the eVTOL and can provide six flights on a full charge.
Orders have already flown in the for the flying car
XPeng says it plans to start mass production this year with the first deliveries scheduled for next year.
And it seems like that can’t come soon enough for some folks – as the company has said it’s already received orders for more than 3,000 units.
“We have transformed the dream of flying cars into a tangible reality,” co-founder of XPeng Tan Wang said.
“The international debut of the ‘Land Aircraft Carrier’ showcases our ability to turn vision into action. With over 3,000 intent orders, we are definitively at the forefront of the advanced mobility revolution.”
The company says it plans to start mass production this year with the first deliveries scheduled for next year.
