The XPeng P7 now comes with an AR feature that lets drivers turn road rage into an on-screen reaction instead of a real one.
In the 2025 electric sedan, tapping a control triggers animated emojis on nearby cars, visible only through the windshield’s augmented reality display.
The function is part of a built-in ‘Road Rage Reliever’ game designed for lighthearted interaction without affecting other road users.
Alongside this, the XPeng P7 arrives with longer range, faster charging, and quicker acceleration. And that’s bound interest anyone watching the electric sedan market.

AR feature turns road rage into pixels
The AR feature uses the car’s cameras and sensors to map nearby vehicles. It then overlays digital images such as cartoon bursts or floating icons onto them.
Only the driver sees these effects, and they disappear instantly when the system is switched off.
XPeng includes prompts reminding drivers to use the AR feature sensibly, with a focus on moments when the car is stationary or moving slowly.

It is one of several updates in the 2025 XPeng P7.
This electric sedan can travel up to 820 km on a single charge and supports 800V charging that can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in under 20 minutes.
As a dual-motor model, it accelerates from 0 to 100kmh in 3.9 seconds, placing it alongside high-performance electric sedan rivals from global brands.
The single-motor variant remains available, offering a lower price point while keeping much of the improved efficiency.
Launch marks XPeng’s push for EV innovation
The updated XPeng P7 went on sale in China on August 6, starting at 209,900 yuan ($28,800 US).
Adding the AR feature reflects a wider push among Chinese automakers to integrate in-car technology to addresses driver mood, including ways to reduce road rage.
It also highlights a growing emphasis on software-driven features to set electric sedan models apart in a competitive market.

Along with the AR feature, the XPeng P7 receives a redesigned smart cockpit, updated infotainment, and improvements to its driver-assist systems.
These changes are aimed at making the electric sedan more adaptable for both daily use and long-distance travel.
By pairing an AR feature aimed at reducing road rage with practical upgrades in range, charging, and onboard technology, the XPeng P7 enters 2025 as a more complete package.
The combination of performance, efficiency, and in-car innovation shows how Chinese brands are evolving to compete globally in the electric sedan segment.
