A YouTuber and his friends have driven an unusual 1999 Zamboni 500 for 50 miles across Ohio in a very unusual road trip.
YouTuber Airbone Entertainment bought the ice resurfacing vehicle at a used car lot. But not content with that, he wanted to take it on a bit of an adventure.
That adventure involved a 50-mile trip across Ohio, in a vehicle that many of us would consider totally inappropriate for such an endeavor.
Normal practice would be to trailer this resurfacer across such a long distance, but where’s the fun in being normal?

What exactly is the 1990 Zamboni 500?
The Zamboni 500 is simply an ice resurfacing vehicle.
It would be used to assist in adding new ice to the local rink.
As you might expect, it is not designed to go fast.
In fact, as the YouTuber found out, the top speed of the Zamboni was just 5mph.
But he and his friends had factored in that it was 10mph.
So it was half the speed that they had been hoping for!

That meant the trip would take twice as long as they had first thought.
With traffic levels quite high, the YouTuber had to wave a lot of it past the vehicle.
Making it even funnier was the attempt to take the Zamboni through a drive-through, just as it broke down.
The road resurfacer somehow completed the journey
As the video showed, the journey did not go totally smoothly.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, there were a few incidents, but the guys made the most of the trip.
Incredibly, they even cooked sausages on a grill on the Zamboni while on the move.
With it limited to just 5mph and only able to crawl across Ohio, it was perhaps only natural that they found a way to entertain themselves.

They even took the resurfacer through a car wash, just for the fun of it.
In the end, the Zamboni did make the journey, concluding one of the strangest road trips we have ever seen.
A vehicle with a top speed of 5mph might not be the best one to do a 50-mile road trip with!
