Ian Davis, a mechanical engineer, lost a good part of his left hand in a work accident, so he built a DIY prosthetic hand.

And it looks straight out of the Terminator movies.

After the accident, his insurance company didn’t cover a prosthetic.

Despite his hardships, he put his skills to use to create a mechanical replacement that doesn’t even require electricity.

It wasn’t easy by any means.

He created tons of prototypes, and after much testing, he finally created a new mechanical hand.

The DIY prosthetic is quite capable, too.

Davis has individual control over all four fingers and can grip anything easily.

The entire setup is custom-made, so he keeps improving upon his creation every day.

Since then, Davis joined YouTube and TikTok to document his journey with the prosthetic hand.

And, as you might have guessed, people worldwide show immense support.

The mechanical hand is so accurate and seamless that some of his audience even suspected him of using CGI.

To counter that, Davis had to make a video showing how exactly his hand works and how he puts it on.

It gives off a Cyberpunk vibe, to say the least.
