A 1958 Chevrolet Impala was posted for sale recently on Craiglist, with a hidden surprise that makes it pretty special.

Despite missing several parts, the car’s still worth grabbing, thanks to its original engine that’s still surprisingly running after spending more than 30 years in storage.

The Chevrolet Impala was one of the most beloved cars of its era, making it a fantastic find for anyone passionate about classic muscle cars.

1958 Chevrolet Impala with a great surprise

The owner describes the Impala as having some notable rust issues and missing several parts – these cars often come with issues like this.

The rust is primarily in the front floors (both driver and passenger sides), the lower section of the trunk, and the rear wheel well area.

As for missing parts, the car lacks the grille, parking light bezels, fender top ornament, body side top quarter moldings, rear cove S moldings, and Z quarter moldings.

Additionally, the front seat is not original.

Despite these issues, the car could be restored to its former glory, thanks to the original 348 cubic-inch engine, which is still surprisingly working.

More about the Chevrolet muscle car

The owner has priced the 1958 Chevrolet Impala at $17,000, parked in Riverside, with 23,000…something on the odometer.

We assume that it is miles, though it’s not mentioned by the owner.

The car is originally white in color, with patches of rust on the body.

Given the condition of the car, it would need a careful transportation from the garage as it’s not roadworthy.

However, a good treatment would definitely make it shine like it did in its good old days.

A 1966 model of Chevrolet Impala was even owned by Elvis Presley, and the car also featured in several classic movies, adding to its rich and storied history.

If you’re looking to stand out on the road, this Craigslist listing is definitely worth a look.

Given the surprising twist, this deal isn’t as bad as it might seem.
