A 1959 Chevrolet Corvette has been sitting idle for more than half a century, but it looks like a worthy project vehicle.
Sports cars from the 50s and 60s were iconic, but most people – including enthusiasts – seem to have forgotten about them.
This Corvette would certainly look great in a modern collection, but it comes with a lot of uncertainties.

1959 Chevrolet Corvette sitting in a garage for 50 years
Someone was selling this 1959 Chevrolet Corvette in Frankenmuth, Michigan — but didn’t reveal much about the details.
He only mentioned what was missing and that it had spent time in a garage since 1971.
That’s easily more than 50 years inside the garage, and time is usually harsh on cars.
Chevy made some remarkable cars back in the day, and restoring abandoned cars can be quite rewarding.
Thankfully, the Corvette survived the hardest part — rust — because of its fiberglass body.
That, paired with indoor storage, didn’t let time do its thing completely, or else it would turn into a box of nothingness.
Hence, the exterior looks nice and dandy and could easily shine again with some work.
The outside, however, is not this barn find’s only major problem.
Suspicions about the engine
Its engine raises a lot of questions and has a lot of parts missing.
Although the listing mentions that its V8 engine doesn’t come with a carburetor and valve covers, that isn’t the end of it.
It’s also missing a few other parts, autoevolution suggests.
As the seller didn’t exactly reveal much about its engine, it’s not certain which engine this 1959 Chevrolet Corvette runs on.
You see, Chevy offered four different engine types with several more trims for this model, making it harder to guess.
There were standard options and ones that came with fuel injectors, and all produced different amounts of horses ranging from 230hp to 290hp.
As important as an engine is in every car, this is more of a classic restoration-worthy Chevy.
Moreover, as we’ve seen before, a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette can still look immaculate today.
The listing is now marked as sold — it already has a new owner.
Hopefully, they will restore the Corvette to its former glory so it can hit the road again.
