This 1965 GMC 3500 has been converted into a one-off motorhome and if you like the look of it, then you’re in luck, because it’s currently for sale.
If you only looked at the front of the vehicle, you’d see a pretty stock standard GMC 3500 truck, but at the back, it’s been built on and extended to create a sizable RV.
The Facebook Marketplace reveals that the transformation from truck to motorhome took place at some point in the 1980s, so he could ‘haul his family’ on fishing trips.
But after many years of faithful service, the vehicle is now looking for a new home, and it could make a very interesting project for someone.

The GMC motorhome is surprisingly spacious inside
Facebook Marketplace is a treasure trove of unusual and unique vehicles, like this replica of a 1950s Le Mans racecar that’s built on a 2002 Mazda MX-5 or this retired school bus that was crying out for a turbocharger.
Over in Illinois, someone has recently listed this one-off 1965 GMC 3500 that has been transformed into a surprisingly spacious RV.

The DIY GMC RV (that’s a lot of letters) is 28 feet long, and while on the outside it might look a little… shall we say, rustic? Inside, it’s surprisingly neat and tidy.
The RV features a roomy seating area with a dining table that appears to be able to pull double duty as a sleeping space.
Heading towards the front of the motorhome, there’s a well-equipped kitchen, which includes a triple-burner stove, a twin-basin sink, fridge, microwave, and a decent amount of worktop space, as well as plenty of storage.

The RV also has its own small toilet, and there’s a small sleeping area above the entrance to the driver’s cabin.
Whoever buys it will probably want to modernize the interiors, unless they’re a huge fan of the 1980s.
But overall, the living spaces are in pretty good shape and have just about everything you’d need for a couple of nights away.
The RV still runs, and it has a low asking price
Despite all its exterior modifications, under the hood, the GMC still has its factory 5.0-liter V6 engine, which still runs.
The motorhome also has power steering and working brakes.

Although the seller does note that it will need ‘some more attention’ if the new owner is planning on using it ‘for the long haul’.
As such, the GMC is being sold as a ‘nice winter project for an ambitious person’ and is listed for $4,000.
Here’s hoping the right person sees the listing and gives this one-off vehicle a new lease on life.
