The Chainsmokers are one of the biggest musical duos on Earth, but soon, they’ll be conquering space as well.
Yes, the New York-based pop producers – Drew Taggart and Alex Pall – are set perform the first concert ever held in space.
The duo is partnering with space tourism company World View for the concert.

They’ll be hopping on one of the company’s first space flights in 2024.
Taggart and Pall will be inside a pressurised space capsule tethered to a stratospheric balloon.
Their performance will then kick off once they’re 20 miles above Earth’s atmosphere.
Say what you will about the best concert you’ve ever been to, but this one will literally be out of this world.

“We have always dreamed of going to space and are stoked to collaborate with World View to have this adventure and experience,” The Chainsmokers said.
“We know the views of both Earth and space are going to be incredible and inspiring and we hope to leverage this flight for creativity on future projects.”
The Chainsmokers performance in space
For World View CEO Ryan Hartman, venturing into space in a way that will capture the attention of younger people is important.
That’s why, after hearing his youngest son singing the lyrics to one of The Chainsmokers’ songs, he had dinner with the duo to gauge their interest.
“I have just seen firsthand and personally how their music reaches a lot of different groups, a lot of different age groups and just how passionate they are about their music and their art,” Hartman told Associated Press.
“To be able to reach the audience of The Chainsmokers through Alex and Drew’s work contributes to our mission as well. It’s something that I’m personally inspired by and excited about.”
The duo, of course, has an absolutely massive audience that can be tapped into through this stunt.
Their tracks “Closer”, “Paris”, “Don’t Let Me Down”, and “Something Just Like This” were all Billboard Hot 100 hits.
“Closer”, which features vocals from singer Halsey, was a number one hit for 11 weeks, and remained in the top 10 for 30 weeks total.
