This is the Erebos X, a twin-turbo V8-powered supercar built in Florida.

The name may not ring a bell but the silhouette should look familiar, as this is essentially the production version of a super popular Concept from the Gran Turismo video game series.

The bespoke supercar draws inspiration from the AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept designed by Mercedes and Polyphony Digital in 2013.

Mercedes did in fact build a real-life concept for the LA Auto Show but that was a one-off prototype whereas this is a production car.

Even though it shares some design cues with the AMG GT (left) and even the SLS AMG (right), the Erebos is definitely its own thing.

The car looks buff, like an AMG GT that spent some time at the gym, and the hood looks longer because the A-pillars are pushed further back.

The front grille is massive and painted black, like a black hole or the gaping mouth of a shark.

It comes in with a unique colorway, combining gunmetal grey for the exterior with lime green upholstery for the cabin.

The same shade of green was used for the wheels, too.

The engine is the best part because it’s a simple, straightforward 5.5-liter V8 with two turbochargers and just enough power sent to the rear wheels.

These days the vast majority of supercars are hybrid, overpowered or both, but this one is neither.

It delivers 835 horsepower, making it ultra-fast while also keeping the driving experience civilized – sort of.

Performance-wise, the Erebos X does 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds.

The top speed is 202 mph / 325 km/h.

Production is capped at 10 cars, with a starting price of $1.5 million.
