Carbon fiber, lightweight wheels, stripping the interior: modifications gearheads typically make to shave some time off their 0-60.
But stripping the entire body off the car is a new one to us.
Surprisingly, that’s exactly what one guy’s done to a Tesla Model 3 – and the results speak for themselves.

YouTuber ‘B is for Build’ has posted a new video to his YouTube showing that it’s entirely possible to shave time off your 0-60.
That’s as long as you’re willing to sacrifice everything that isn’t involved in propulsion and driving.
The problem with modern cars, though, is that they require a lot of feedback from various sensors to function.
For example, an improper ground can disable stability control, and missing equipment can force the car into limp mode.
But with enough perseverance the Tesla Model 3 was still able to run, and they were able to remove the bulky, weighty body parts.
Gone was the roof, doors, body panels, and more.
They even removed the passenger seats, many electronics and most of the trim, too.
Tesla claims the Model 3 Performance has a 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds, but the guys actually found their car did it in 3.46 seconds before modifications when they did a test run.
While they expected a marginal gain after stripping out the car, they didn’t expect to shave a second off the 0-60 time.
As you can imagine, hitting 60 in 2.46 seconds without a windshield can’t be that comfortable or safe, but it looks like heaps of fun.
We certainly wouldn’t recommend doing it, unless you’re a professional of course.
Now the guys know, to a certain degree, what it feels like to drive a McLaren Elva.
