Apple recently held its ‘Scary Fast’ launch event and, believe it or not, it was filmed entirely on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Very few people caught on to it, and when Apple made it public knowledge, people wouldn’t believe it.

Apple Scary Fast introduced the new MacBooks, new iMac and a powerful line of chips.

More importantly, Apple used the launch as a chance to flex the amazing software behind the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera.

The event was filmed cinematically in high-definition, all shot on an iPhone.

This is the first time an entire Apple event has been recorded using nothing but an iPhone.

The latest iPhones, introduced in September during Apple’s other event, are the first capable of recording in ProRes Log at 60 frames per second.

Further, the iPhones combine the super-low compression of the ProRes format with the Log color format, used in the film industry for accurate color correction.

Obviously, the elephant in the room must be addressed.

When Apple says the entire event was filmed using iPhone 15 Pro Max, what they mean is no other cameras were used.

However, for obvious reasons, they did use certain tools in order to make the event look more cinematic.

For example, the aerial shot at the beginning, the one where you can see the Apple Park at night, was filmed on an iPhone that was mounted on a drone.

Further, in order to make the image clear and bright enough, Apple used Hollywood-style lights for the part of the film where Apple CEO Tim Cook talks us through the new products.

Still, it’s a massive achievement.

Especially when you consider the iPhone 15 Pro Max they used to film the Apple Scary Fast event starts at $1,199.

Flashy upgrades are available.

It’s a lot of money for a phone, but still ten times cheaper than buying a professional video camera.
