Jim Carrey is one of Hollywood’s wealthiest actors but his net worth may sometimes fly under the radar because of his down-to-earth personality.

But the one thing that does not fly under the radar – apologies for the pun – is his private jet.

Jim Carrey owns a Gulfstream V jet, which was originally built all the way back in the late 1980s.

The plane has of course been refurbished a few times since, and the actor purchased it in 2006 for a reported $59 million.

And he uses it a lot, too.

There are websites that keep track of how often celebrities use their jets and in 2020, Jim Carrey was the world’s 14th biggest spender.

This chart is famously inhabited by the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr, Elon Musk and Taylor Swift.

So the fact that Jim Carrey made the top 20 speaks volumes.

We can totally see why, though.

His private jet is a beaut.

Among other things, it has an open bar area, multiple entertainment systems, and a PlayStation room.

Jim Carrey is wealthier than you think.

Unlike other actors of his stature, Carrey has always focused on the craft, rather than on side gigs and deals.

He doesn’t really have a huge social media presence and doesn’t really do a lot of commercials.

However, he’s a very profilic actor and comedian, and he’s starred in blockbusters such as Bruce Almighty ($484 million) and Sonic the Hedgehog (nearly $800 million in total).

As of 2023, he has a net worth of nearly $200 million.

More than enough to maintain a $59 million private jet.

For a jet of that size and caliber, the upkeep costs are estimated at roughly $3+ million on a yearly basis.
