Adam Sandler decided to show his appreciation for his Grown Ups co-stars by gifting each of them a car.

Released in 2010, Grown Ups stars Sander alongside David Spade, Chris Rock, Kevin James and Rob Schneider.

The five of them play buddies who take a trip to a lake house where antics ensue.

Upon release, it grossed $272 million at the box office – so Sandler decided to show his appreciation in a super generous way.

How Adam Sandler treated his Grown Ups co-stars

Sandler, who produced the film in addition to starring in it, gave each of his pals a Maserati.

With a net worth of $420 million, the Happy Gilmore star is no slouch when it comes to his bank account.

But spending $200,000 per friend is exceptionally generous by any metric.

As you might imagine, it’s quite a shock to find a sports car sat on your driveway.

Even in Hollywood, that’s something that can take you by surprise.

It seems that David Spade found it particularly odd to deal with.

Whilst being interviewed by Jay Leno in 2010, he admitted that he hadn’t driven the car out of awkwardness.

Chris Rock expressed his reaction in a slightly different way, whilst appearing on Howard Stern’s show.

The comedian recalled: “I went outside the other day and I had a new Maserati in the driveway. Now I think that I’m Adam Sandler’s b****.”

“The movie’s like the biggest thing for Sandler. He appreciates the help.”

A brief rundown of Hollywood generosity

When it came time for the cast to reunite for Grown Ups 2 in 2013, Sandler hinted that he wanted to continue his giving spree.

This time, he would be gifting a car to his on-screen wife, Salma Hayek.

Whilst appearing at a film convention, Hayek told the crowd: “If this one does better, he’s going to get me something better.”

Sandler responded: “A Ferrari. Can we help get Salma a Ferrari?”

Given that the sequel pulled in $247 million, here’s hoping she got that Ferrari.

Sandler isn’t the only star in Tinsel Town who is quick to dispense cars to his nearest and dearest.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson picked up cars for both his dad and his uncle as a show of gratitude.

His lucky dad received a Ford Explorer whilst his uncle became the proud owner of a Ford F-150 truck.

The late Steve Jobs also had a penchant for dishing out cars.

In fact, the former Apple CEO gave a hard working employee the keys to his very own Porsche 944.

Admittedly, the man had sold 125 Macs so he most certainly earned it.

It beats getting your picture put on the wall like most Employees Of The Month.
