The Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger plane, was forced to perform an unbelievable ‘crab landing’ maneuver.

The maneuver is called the ‘crab landing’ because of how crabs move sideways when walking about.

Due to the fiercely strong winds, the pilots were forced to make the ‘crab landing’ at London’s Heathrow Airport.

The massive Airbus A380 approached the landing pad at a sideways angle to cope with strong crosswinds.

The footage from 2020, shows the Etihad Airways jet hanging in the air as it comes in for the ‘crab landing’.

Airbus A380 is known as the world’s largest passenger plane due to its enormity.

Here’s a video showcasing the true scale of the aircraft and its interior.

An aircraft of such size is not easy to handle even by the most veteran pilots.

However, this isn’t the first time we have seen an aircraft perform such a risky maneuver.

Considering that the aircraft has a maximum landing weight of 394 tons, one would need nerves of steel to perform such a risky maneuver.

Just recently, we also saw a retiring Airbus A380 pilot performing a breathtaking maneuver on his final flight full of passengers.

Fortunately, the pilots of the Etihad Airbus A380 aircraft were able to skillfully land the plane safely.

Due to this, both pilots were praised on social media for their handling of the plane.

One YouTube commenter wrote, “This pilot is just a great champion, the passengers owe him a huge thank you Bravo Monsieur.”

The footage of the aircraft’s landing was posted on YouTube, where the viewers applauded the pilots.

The $445.6 million double-decker jet is known for its exclusive first class ‘apartment in the sky’.

With a seating capacity of 525, the Airbus A380 is the largest commercial passenger plane in the world.
