Lockheed spy plane and Alfa Romeo chase

This is the incredible moment a U-2 spy plane skims over an Alfa Romeo Stelvio in a runway car chase.

It’s not every day you get to see a cat-and-mouse chase between a supercar and a Lockheed U-2 spy plane, but today is that day.

In the footage (that looks as if it could have been shot for an action film), you can see the moment the U-2 eclipses the car at over 110mph.

Mindy Lindheim (@schmiiindy) shared the epic video to Instagram, saying “ohhhh my GOSH!!!! One of the most incredible things I have ever had the privilege to experience”.

“The U2 pilots at Beale were first class – absolutely amazing pilots,” she said.

In the video, you can also hear the aircraft’s roar intensify – it must have been an absolutely wild thing to experience in person.

As the driver lists off their increasing speed, the U-2 passes the car overhead, and the sight is made all the more spectacular through the sunroof.

The Alfa’s four-cylinder engine propels the car to as high as 115 mph, but it was of course no match for the spy plane.

In the vid, we can see the spy plane hovering along the runway before briefly touching down and immediately bounding up into the sky again at a lightning pace.

Viewers were just as in awe, with one user commenting “mad skills! Driving 115 and talking on the radio”.

“Watching that aircraft pass mere feet over the car is awesome. Unforgettable for sure,” another said

A spy plane car chase ride sure is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

We’re just grateful they filmed it and shared the footage for us all.
