This is the new Alpine A310 VISION concept, a tribute to the iconic A310.

And we got to see it in person.

It looks incredible.

But there’s an inevitable question we’d like to ask.

Reimagining a legend

55 years after the debut of the iconic Alpine A310, the brand reimagined this legend with the Alpine A310 VISION.

Even though this concept is a nostalgic nod, it comes with a futuristic wedge shape, crazy aero, sci-fi design cues, and some pretty clever lighting wizardry.

At the front, there’s an illuminated front hood that sweeps all the way down, mainly designed as a tribute to the original car’s V-shape.

The little aerodynamic elements aren’t just for slicing through the air, because they also double as front bumpers.

On either side of these little bumpers, we find pixel-effect, pop-down headlights with super-sharp angles

The side and rear sections follow the same design language

The profile of the Alpine A310 VISION Concept is defined first and foremost by the lack of side mirrors, which are replaced by cameras, and the scissor doors.

Interestingly, the doors also feature a little ‘peekaboo’ window at the bottom of the door giving you a sneak view of the interior.

There are also three aprons and massive muscular wheel arches.

Moving backward, we find a continuous brake light starts midway down the rear pillars and slices all the way down to the bumper.

The rear culminates in a transparent ducktail spoiler, which is a clever touch that allows drivers behind you to see right through the bodywork to watch the brake lights illuminate.

Below that, wraparound taillights frame a gigantic diffuser.

Will Alpine produce this?

Alpine does have plans for a modern, all-electric four-seat sports coupe wearing the A310 nameplate on their upcoming Alpine Performance Platform (APP), slated for release around 2027–2028.

But, unfortunately, it’s unclear whether this exact model will make it to production.

The good news is we know for sure there will be an Alpine-branded sports car.

Set to be launched either later this year or the next, the new A110 will be electric, but it’ll also be lightweight, which is quite difficult to achieve with an EV.

So kudos to Alpine for that.
