An American has bought an Alibaba dirt bike that costs less than an iPhone to see if the EV actually works.
YouTuber MrCentralDriver uploaded the video onto his channel in August 2025, which showed him trying out the bike and seeing how well it worked.
Cheap vehicles from China have become a source of fascination recently, especially electric vehicles, with many being curious as to how good they are.
The quality can vary massively, as you might expect. So how did the YouTuber fare with this particular EV?

Was the Alibaba dirt bike too good to be true?
The listing had the electric bike priced at $650 before shipping, and import duties were factored in.
With all the customs paid, it came to around $836, which is remarkably cheap for an electric bike.
Yet the big question the YouTuber had was whether that price was too good to be true or not.
The bike arrived via FedEx in quite a small package, but things were looking promising.

It came with its charger, and after getting it out of its box, it did look like the images on Alibaba.
Parts of the bike needed assembling, such as the suspension, front wheel, and handlebars.
Once assembled, the bike looked great.
This just left the YouTuber with one question – whether it would work or not.
What the bike was like to ride and use
The bike did start, after a bit of last-minute troubleshooting to connect another wire.
With it working, he took the bike out for a ride to experience the ride, and it did indeed work.
The maximum speed of the bike is over 35mph, and that was achieved with the battery at a low level.
During the test ride, the bike didn’t cut out, and it completed the short journey that the YouTuber wanted it to do.

After he got back, MrCentralDriver delievered his conclusion on the bike.
Considering it cost less than $1,000 all-in, the YouTuber was quite happy with the bike.
The speed was good enough for what the bike is required to do, and fully charged, it should be even better.
This is one cheap Alibaba purchase that looks like it was absolutely worth it.
