An American man is trying to win back his ex-wife after their divorce by cleaning up their Pontiac Grand Ville.

The couple divorced over 32 years ago, and the car went into a storage unit that the wife, Anita, was paying for.

After her ex-husband Mark found the car, he did everything he could to win both her and the car back.

Cue a major detailing for the Pontiac to restore it to its former glory and, hopefully, get his wife back in the process.

How the Pontiac was stored for so long

The couple divorced in 1993 and then didn’t talk again until the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in 2020.

It was during that time that Mark found out Anita still had the car.

She’d kept the car in reasonable condition, though, thanks to the storage unit.

The car was parked in its locker in 1998 or 1999, and as Anita doesn’t drive, it’s been there ever since.

With the car needing some TLC, Mark called the guys at WD Detailing to fix it up.

They showcased their work on YouTube.

The only major issue they found with the car was that the rear glass was gone.

Hence, they need to cover it with plastic foil.

Even basic foaming and rinsing of the blue paintwork allowed it to shine again.

The detailers brought the Grand Ville back to its former glory

Since it left the factory in 1973, the car has done just 69,000 miles.

Amazingly, it quickly fired up again after coming out of the locker.

Brushes and microfiber clothes helped to remove the last of the dirt from the classic car.

Luckily, the only issue with the paint was some oxidation on the hood, which the detailers were able to rectify.

They also cleaned up the cabin, which was in good condition as Anita had put sheets on the seats.

Gleaming white leather and woodgrain trim show how luxurious the Grand Ville was in the 1970s.

At the end of the video, the pair sees the car again after its detailing and are overjoyed at the results.

Is this the start of something special? We’re keeping our fingers crossed…
