An American supercar company is making a return, with manufacturer Saleen announcing a comeback – and you can help design its new car.

The company is one of the more obscure manufacturers in the world, but the American company was responsible for some wild creations, such as the S7 and the S5S Raptor.

The last car it built was the S1 in China, but it’s remained quiet ever since 2020. Until now, that is.

It has now announced a new supercar, the S11, and recently took the covers off it in Washington, while also announcing that fans can help to design it.

The Saleen S11 is a supercar that fans can design

The company revealed the S11 in Tacoma, Washington, with a clay model on show at the LeMay Museum.

This full-size model gives us a preview of what the new supercar might look like.

Company founder Steve Saleen curated the exhibit where the car is on display.

What they have shown so far is a sleek, futuristic supercar with two doors and large wheels.

An artist’s impression shows off a striking red finish.

Saleen now wants members of the public to help design the car.

That entails them choosing specific design elements for both the interior and exterior.

These, then, could be incorporated into the car’s final design.

Few details have been released about the American supercar

So far, the company is keeping the performance details and pricing a secret.

However, what it has promised is that everything about the car will be ‘one louder’ than any other on the market.

Outside of the Spinal Tap nod, what exactly they mean by that is also still a secret.

We would not be surprised, however, to see a loud V8 under the hood, complete with a manual transmission.

That would be in keeping with how Saleen has produced supercars in the past.

We shouldn’t have to wait too long before we get more information on the car.

Saleen has promised that the American supercar will make its full debut within the next 12 months.

That will also include the design elements by fans and the public.

How those will be incorporated into the final design will be fascinating to see. Time to get drawing!
