After the latest revolutionary Apple product launched, one tech expert has broken down the engineering behind the iPhone Air, and it has blown people away.
Most people’s initial reaction to the iPhone Air would be along the same lines as: ‘there’s no way that can be durable enough.’
The wafer-thin body looks like it should bend like a banana if it were in your back pocket when sitting down.
But after its first days on the market, the latest blockbuster Apple hit appears to be winning over fans by showing off its incredible robustness and rigorous engineering.

Tech experts opens up iPhone Air to see engineering wizardry
Maybe it’s a bit of mistrust in the gurus after watching Elon Musk’s revolutionary armored glass smash in front of our very eyes, but early claims of the iPhone Air being a sturdy phone were immediately met with skepticism.
Straight off the bat, people have been actively trying to break them, and the phone seems to be passing its strength and conditioning tests with flying colors.
Now, tech whizz iFixit has cracked it open like a squirrel with a nut and took a look at what’s going on inside this paper-thin glass oddity.
In a new upload to YouTube, he unscrewed the shell, and what lay underneath was enough to blow his viewers away.

Underneath the surface, the iPhone Air boasts a huge battery, which Apple has already revealed is a very costly replacement job if you damage it, worth almost half of the phone itself.
But surrounding Apple’s biggest battery yet is a titanium housing unit, a C1X modem, N1 chip, and A19 Pro SoC, all of which are technical jargon for high-end processors that make the iPhone Air tick. Quickly.
The tech expert claimed that even though it’s super-strong, the thin phone is actually even more repairable than other models, as there aren’t as many overlapping parts and everything on display can simply be lifted out and replaced.
Apple fans blown away by its engineering
With the man giving the iPhone Air a modest 7/10 rating – marked down only for its tricky USB-C port – viewers have been able to appreciate the mechanical prowess on display by Apple.
Many have taken to Reddit to express their shock.

“Videos like this help me to understand how impressive modern engineering is even at small scale,” one popular comment said.
Another added: “I’m always blown away by the very specific tooling and machinery that Apple engineers have to come up with to make mass-producing these phones even attainable. It adds a whole other layer to the amazing engineering.”
The iPhone Air is already benefiting from the breakthrough in Apple software, which has seen iOS 26 bring through an abundance of underrated features that will transform your mobile experience.
