A collector found a rare Aston Martin abandoned in a UK garage.
This Aston – the V8 Vantage – is so rare it barely looks like an Aston Martin, but it is, and it is a lot more iconic than we think.
Unveiled in the late 1960s, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage is an underrated classic.
But that’s changing quickly, also thanks to James Bond.

A priceless barn find
The car was found by YouTuber Tavarish, who then talked about it on the Late Brake Show YouTube channel.
The Aston had sat abandoned in a barn in the middle of nowhere in the UK for years.
For a car that’s been rusting away for years, you have to admit it does look fine.
In fact, it looks so fine the expression to ‘rust away’ has to be used in a metaphorical sense only because we can’t even see any rust.
Apart from the saggy tires and the dust, it looks pretty much road ready.
The story behind the Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Even though it bears the same name as the Vantage AMR and the 2024 Vantage, the ‘original’ V8 Vantage from the 1970s looks completely different.
It was first unveiled in 1969s, and it was then produced throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
Even though this relatively obscure Aston is not talked about as much as the DB5 or the Vanquish (there’s a new one, by the way), the V8 Vantage provided the inspiration for the new limited-edition Valour.
Perhaps the reason why some people may not even look at this as a ‘normal’ Aston is it almost looks like a muscle car.
But that’s what makes it unique.
