2024 Porsche 911 Dakar with just 48 miles could be all yours

A 2024 Porsche 911 Dakar with just 48 miles on the clock is currently on sale.

Technically, that doesn’t count as brand-new, but 48 miles basically means the car left the dealer, was loaded on a truck and then parked in a garage.

And then the owner forgot all about it.

Despite the low mileage, the price is anything but – in fact, it’s probably higher than you’d ever expect.

This Porsche 911 Dakar will sell at a premium

A 2024 Porsche 911 Dakar was recently listed for sale on Bring a Trailer with just 48 miles from new.

If car collectors could figure out a way to keep the mileage to literally zero they’d do it, but they can’t (for now at least), which is why this car comes with 48 miles on the odometer.

In real-world terms, this means the car was most likely never driven for an extensive period of time.

The owner simply bought it, loaded on to a trailer or a truck, and then drove it into an air-conditioned vault where it remained until the present day.

If we were to speculate, we’d wager that Bugatti-Rimac CEO Mate Rimac probably won’t like that.

But, jokes aside, this strategy clearly paid off when it came time to sell.

The Porsche 911 Dakar had an MSRP of around $259,000, and this car will definitely sell for a lot more than that.

This is not your average Porsche 911

In recent years, luxury makers decided to throw caution to the wind and dare a bit more.

Porsche unveiled the 911 Dakar and Lamborghini launched the Huracán Sterrato.

Both are proper off-roaders, but they’re also supercars.

British sportscar manufacturer Morgan also gave it a go, and Chinese brand GAC is also thinking about it.

In a way, building a supercar that can be driven off-road is like making a luxury watch that can also be used thousands of meters underwater.

You’re not necessarily going to use it off-road, but it’s nice to know that you could if you wanted to.
