There’s an auto shop in Dubai that specializes in repairing and rescuing old Nissan 240Z cars – and the team does an amazing job.
The vintage vehicle was sold in Japan as the Nissan Fairlady Z – but was known as the Datsun 240Z for export market.
The sports car launched in 1969 but production wrapped up just four years later in 1973.
Now, this Dubai-based auto shop is on a mission to restore, repair and rescue as many as possible.

The vintage Nissan is a truly iconic car
The Nissan Fairlady Z – aka the Datsun 240Z – was the very first of Nissan’s Z series of cars.
The 240Z was designed to be light and agile – it was also priced a lot cheaper than its competitors with a base price of just $3,626.

It was available with three different engines, including a 2.4-liter, and was a real-deal sports car.
So much so, that it was even awarded second place in Sports Car International’s list of Top Sports Cars of the 1970s.
During its four-year production run, around 168,000 240Zs were made for the export market – including 4200 right-hand drive examples that ended up in the UK and Australia.
These days, the car is considered one of the best Nissan ever made and it has left behind a lasting legacy.

Helping to preserve that legacy is Duabi-based CarbonSignal – an auto shop that’s dedicated to restoring and saving the iconic 240Z and other Nissan models.

YouTuber and car enthusiast, Larry Chen went out to visit CarbonSignal and was left seriously impressed by the skills and dedication on show.
As the name probably indicates, CarbonSignal began life making carbon fiber panels for Nissans – including the 240Z.
However, as time went on, CarbonSignal evolved into a full auto shop – offering mechanical restorations and modifications, as well as the carbon fiber panels it was known for.
These days, Nissan owners across the globe send their vehicles to be worked on.
As Chen took a stroll through the auto shop, several 240Z could be seen being worked on, as well as some Skylines and other famed cars from the marque.
Although the company is now fixing up more Nissans than ever before, it still does the work by hand – ensuring each and every car is carefully restored and left looking as good as new.
How awesome is that?
