An unassuming garage in Mineral Wells, Texas, is hiding some of the rarest Ford Mustangs, including a couple of 1971 convertible models that are two of only four ever made.

Launched back in 1964, the Mustang is the longest-running nameplate for Ford.

Since then, more than 10 million Mustangs have been sold across the globe.

But that’s not to say there aren’t still rare models out there and Finley Ledbetter from the Blue Oval Car Barn owns several of them.

The Texas garage is stuffed with rare Ford Mustangs

Classic Ford Mustangs remain a popular choice for car collectors and gearheads, and there are some great collections out there, like this one in Maine in the US

Over in Texas, Finley Ledbetter is another keen Mustang collector, and he’s got epic additions to his haul.

He recently caught up with car enthusiast and YouTuber Lou Costabile to give him a private tour of the collection.

At first glance, the Blue Oval Car Barn may look like your average garage or workshop, but if you take a closer look, you’ll see it’s stuffed with vintage Mustangs, some of which are super rare

Among those stashed away in his collection are a 1966 GT350 Shelby, a 429 Cobra Jet Mustang in pastel blue, and a dark green  McMaster Super Cobra Jet.

Not only that, but most of the cars in Finley’s collection are in great shape, with some of them looking factory fresh.

But two 1971 convertible models really stand out

However, its two 1971 convertible models which really stand out from the rest.

The cars are both fitted with a 429 Cobra Jet, four-speed transmission, and Ram Air.

Only four of this particular model were ever built, and Finley is the proud owner of two of them.

“This is a real story – a lot of people say the rarest muscle car,” Finley explained in the video.

“There have been magazine articles written over the years that say this is the rarest muscle car ever built.

“As far as production cars, they only built four of them, so I don’t know how much rarer it can get.”

And much like the other cars Finley owns, the two convertibles are in tip-top shape with gleaming paintwork.

All in all, it’s an absolutely mind-blowing collection.
