Stunning footage of Boeing 777X takeoff reveals ginormous size of the world’s most powerful jet engines

Footage of a Boeing 777X taking off on a clear day showcases the sheer size of the plane’s GE9X engines: the world’s largest and most powerful commercial jet engines.

The super-sized engines feature a whopping 134-inch fan diameter, the biggest of any commercial jet, and can deliver a tremendous amount of power while still managing to be relatively quiet when in use.

The GE9X is so powerful, it’s even got a Guinness World Record for thrust at a mind-blowing 134,300 pounds-force (597 kN). 

But despite their power and size, the engines are still able to make the Boeing 777X look incredibly graceful during take off and landing – as you can see in the clip above.
