A British YouTuber who purchased a Lamborghini Revuelto supercar that the company claimed wouldn’t start is returning it to the dealership.

YouTuber Mat Armstrong has been restoring a Revuelto that was totaled, and it is finally at the stage where it can be fired up again.

Armstrong had to enlist the help of a Lamborghini technician to complete the electronics process and get the vehicle started for the first time.

However, the supercar threw up several surprises and even tricked Armstrong and the technician into thinking it wouldn’t start. The question is, was that the case?

Armstrong has spent many months working on the Lamborghini to try and get it up and running again.

The start of the video gave a flashback to what the supercar was like when he first got his hands on it.

It was a wreck, with all corners smashed in and major bodywork damage.

When Armstrong got the car, the 300-volt battery that connected the Lamborghini’s V12 engine and electric motor wouldn’t function.

That is because, in the event of an accident, the battery receives a signal to shut off completely to prevent a fire and any electrical shocks.

The problem with the Revuelto is that it uses the electric motor at the back to start the car.

Without the battery, the motor can’t run, and therefore it won’t start.

Armstrong and his team did so much work to get it going again.

They then brought in a Lamborghini technician to finish the job.

However, the technician said it would have to go back to Lamborghini in Italy for it to start again.

Armstrong sat in the car and tried to start it himself, and somehow he tricked it into firing up again.

This was the first time that the Lamborghini had fired up since Armstrong began the project, a major achievement.

Armstrong was also able to trick the car into moving via the electric motor.

That meant he could finally drive it out of the unit where he had restored it.

Next, though, it needs to go to Lamborghini for them to refit a battery and to get it going with no trickery.

Who knows whether they will succeed, or how much it will cost the YouTuber.

But, you can follow the journey along on Mat’s YouTube channel.
