Drag racer Brittany Force has made the fastest run in NHRA history at Sonoma Raceway after securing an incredible time.

Force and her Monster Energy dragster headed to the 37th annual Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals on Friday, July 25.

There, she set a new world speed record, after shattering the previous time.

Force has now set the speed record three times this year.

Drag racer Brittany Force made the fastest run in NHRA history

It’s been an incredible year for drag racer Brittany Force.

Back in May, she set a new speed record after hitting a top speed of 341.59mph at the American Rebel Light 4-Wide Nationals, smashing a record previously set by her.

She then managed to beat that score at Seattle just two weeks ago, after clocking a top speed of 341.85mph.

But at the weekend, she took part in the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals, where she made the fastest run in NHRA history after hitting a landmark speed of 343.16mph.

“On that run it actually moved around a little and I thought about taking my foot out of it for a second and then I said, ‘No, I can get it there.’” Force said.

“I couldn’t hear anything on my radio and then they repeated the 343 speed and I thought they were joking. I’m so pumped and so excited to do this in front of all the fans here. The stands were packed.

“This is still settling in. We’ve run great mph lately, but our goal is always elapsed time, not mph but to jump over 342 and go right to 343, I still can’t believe we did it. We’ve worked hard to get here but we’ve got a cleaner more consistent package than we’ve had.”

It’s the third time this year that Force has set the speed record, and she currently has nine of 10 fastest speeds in the history of Top Fuel.

Her clean streak is only interrupted by Doug Kalitta, who also managed an incredible 341.34mph at Sonoma over the weekend.

Force has had an unbelievable drag racing career

Drag racing is in the blood for Brittany Force, who is the daughter of former drag-racing champ John Force.

Force was the first woman driver to be the number one qualifier in Top Fuel at the U.S. Nationals.

Alongside safely securing the fastest run in NHRA history, and sitting in nine of the top 10 fastest Top Fuel speeds ever recorded, she also has an impressive 16 NHRA wins under her belt.

In other words, she’s a real tour de Force (sorry).
