Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac may have a very humble Volkswagen Golf as his daily driver, but – let’s be clear – the man loves a hypercar.
Of course, that’s no surprise given that he’s responsible for creating some of the fastest cars in the world.
But he recently shared a clip of himself that reveals the balance he’s got when it comes to cars.
And his followers love him for it.

How he balances his humble VW Golf with faster cars
Being the CEO of Bugatti as well as the founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili, we all know that Mate Rimac isn’t afraid of hitting some serious speeds behind the wheel.
However, fans were left slightly taken aback when the billionaire revealed he’d bought himself a Volkswagen Golf R32.

Not really the sort of thing you’d imagine the CEO of Bugatti cruising around in, right?
In fact, Rimac said so much himself.
“It is not the kind of car you would expect a CEO to drive,” he admitted in a clip shared on his Instagram page.
But in a more recent post on his page, Rimac has shown has he smoothly switches between his VW Golf and his Bugatti Chiron Sport.
The short clip shows Rimac sitting behind the wheel of the Golf, before turning the engine off, hopping out, and stepping straight into his Chiron Sport, turning on its powerful W16 engine.
Rimac’s Instagram followers were quick to comment on the clip, praising the CEO for being down to Earth and a ‘legend’.

“The most likable CEO ever,” one person said.
“Casually popping out of a VW and entering a Bugatti,” someone else commented.
“What a flex. The best CEO in the car industry.”
What else has Mate Rimac got in his garage?
Alongside his Volkswagen Golf R32 and the Bugatti Chiron Sport, Mate Rimac has the keys to a heap of cool cars.
Last year, he took delivery of a $2.2 million customized Rimac Nevera, and has shown us all what it’s like inside his Bugatti Mistral.
He seemingly has a fondness for BWMs and had an E39 M, as his old daily driver before getting the Golf.
He’s also a firm believer that cars – no matter how expensive – need to be driven. We couldn’t agree more.
