Tesla have been seriously dominating the drag strip for some time now.

The American EV manufacturer has been laying waste to some of the most powerful cars on the Planet.

One YouTuber is so confident in his Tesla that he issued an open challenge to all comers.

And he added a very interesting twist to up the ante.

Tesla trouncing rivals in performance

As you likely will have seen by now, various Tesla models have been obliterating their fossil-fuelled foes in races lately.

Because Tesla cars are powered entirely by electric motors, they get instant torque delivery when they start off the line.

Additionally, because of the electric motors, and unlike traditional engines, there is no revving required, or lag in power delivery.

This usually means that cars such as the Tesla Model 3 and Model S absolutely fly off the line.

So, as you can see, Tesla owners are rightly confident in their car’s performance.

But one YouTuber has risked it all in a video.

YouTuber offers pink slips if Tesla can be beaten.

In true Fast and Furious fashion, one YouTuber has issued the ultimate challenge.

Tyler Oliveira, who runs a YouTube channel of the same name, issued a public challenge to anyone who could beat his Tesla in a drag race.

The added twist was this – if anyone could beat the EV, they could keep the car too.

The first challenger is a 2008 Ford Focus.

Whilst Tyler completely stuffs the launch, he ends up winning by a mile.

Next, he faces a Ford Mustang and a sportbike, which are both promptly demolished.

Tyler even faces off against a Porsche 911 and obliterates that, too.

Tyler’s EV does get beaten

However, two of the 10 cars that Tyler faces off against do get the better of him.

A guy shows up the track with an old school drag car.

After laying down some rubber on the track, Tyler accepts his challenge.

The drag car absolutely smokes Tyler’s EV, with the parachute fully deploying before Tyler even hits the finish line.

Tyler asks him how much he put into his car.

He responds with a wry smile: “About a quarter of what you paid for yours.”

Shots. Fired.

The second car to best Tyler is a 21 year-old with a day-old Lamborghini Huracan.

Straight off the line, the Huracan stops the Tesla from building any kind of lead, and quickly reins it in.

The Lamborghini then moves past Tyler and hangs on for a tight, but clear, win.

So, there’s a lesson to be learned here.

If you want to shut Tesla owners up everywhere – buy a $250,000 Lamborghini.
